What is going on at Tags Bakery ??? It breaks my heart to write this because I have loved Tags for years !!! I have a big family and when I’m in charge of the cake — it’s Tags !! I send my family florentines at Christmas !!! I don’t live near Tags ( I’m at the Kennedy at Addison) but to me Birthdays and Holidays are special and nobody said Special like Tags The cakes were always delicious and the decorating was beautiful !!! — In July I ordered a cake to say “Happy Birthday Gramma “ when my son came to pick it up it said— Happy Birthday Gran day —— and the cake was terrible - it was chocolate cake with buttercream frosting but when you cut it the cake just crumbled — you couldn’t cut in it slices !!! Anyway hoping that was just a one time mess up I ordered my daughters birthday cake to say Happy Birthday Lilly in pastel colors with balloons and a small heart above the i in Lilly — I basically got an all white cake — that had the tiniest bit of pink and purple mixed in the white of the balloons — the writing was the same with no heart above the i in Lilly - the girl said “you asked for pastels ! “ This was not pastel !! She said they could fix it if I came back in an hour— bu

Terrible experience with Tag’s, sadly. We ordered a gender reveal cake, but they put the reveal color on the outside of the cake and left the inside white, completely ruining the surprise. This was especially frustrating because, when I placed the order, the person on the phone even double-checked whether the person picking up the cake would already know the gender or whether they should make sure not to say anything. When we pointed out the mistake, the response was essentially, “This is what the order slip says,” rather than acknowledging immediately that the cake had clearly been made incorrectly. We now have to wait for a new cake to be made, and they would not offer a refund or even a discount for the inconvenience. Very disappointing experience, and I would recommend going elsewhere.

Tags rules. Totally goofed on a cake order and called them within 24 hours and they were able to accommodate. They were fast, professional, kind and the cake was INSANE. Want to thank the amazing team at Tags again for making one helluva cake with such short notices

I have great memories of this place as a kid and love coming back here as an adult. Their smiley cookies are some of the best, if you love chocolate and yellow frosting. Their florentines are one of my dad's favorite and are rightly legendary. My only pet peeve is that their delicious pumpkin pie squares are only made available for an unnecessarily limited time frame during the fall season, not even all of fall, and the why of this is a mystery to me. There also aren't any good places to sit or meet up with people and enjoy your freshly purchased baked goods inside. That said, this is a long-running family-run institution on Central, and I wish them many years of success to come!

Not a Dresden Stollen We were told it is a Dresden Stollen, I got one for us and one for friends with roots in Europe. Turns out ... we were given 2 "Stollen", not the "Dresden Stollen" with marzipan core etc. Instead of $23.95 we paid $39.95. How could we see inside? And, the stollen is actually quite dry, takes a big coffee mug to wash that sand storm down. The only good feedback is ... the Florentines were excellent! My wife and I were offered one to sample, and we bought a few. I call that cheating. I don't like to hand out negative reviews, I like that we have a bakery in our neighborhood we can walk to in a few minutes. But that is more than a misshap.
